1. What are the benefits of Osteopathic Treatment?
If you are new to osteopathy, here are some of the benefits:

  • Treats spinal problems resulting from poor posture or spinal disk injuries

  • Helps the body to adapt to hormonal and structural changes during pregnancy

2. How do I Know if I Need Osteopathy Versus Massage Therapy

Rickey will determine which therapy method will be most effective in your situation – and discuss it with you before beginning the treatment. He also has other treatment options available, including ultrasound, acupuncture, and TMS? A session might include one or all of these types of treatment.

3. What do I Wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing.


4. What Happens During An Osteopathic Treatment?

You will be evaluated, based on your symptoms and medical history and the observation of your posture, tension zones and lines of gravity.

Treatments may include mobilizing, stretching, and manipulative techniques designed to help restore normal function and to facilitate the body's healing process. An explanation will be given to you regarding what will be involved in any treatment.  Massage and other treatment methods such as acupuncture and ultrasound may be incorporated into the session.

5. Do I Need a Prescription to Receive Treatment?

A doctor’s prescription is not necessary unless required by your insurance company.

6. How Long Do Treatments Take?

Treatment sessions will vary depending on the nature of the problem. Generally, a treatment can last from 30 to 60 minutes, with initial evaluation sessions lasting closer to 60 minutes.

7. How many Treatments are Necessary?

The number of treatments required to obtain expected results will vary according to the nature of the problem.

However, osteopathy treatments are generally administered once every one or two weeks. This allows the body to adapt to treatment.

You will not be prescribed treatments that are not necessary!!

8. Do Osteopathic Treatments Hurt?

Osteopathic treatments are not usually painful and most techniques are extremely gentle.  However, the nature of the ailment might mean that some discomfort cannot be avoided. In developing the treatment plan, the osteopath will consider the nature of the condition, the symptoms, the patient's general health and personal concerns. He will not perform a procedure on a patient unless the patient gives consent to proceed.


9. Do You Provide Service in Both English and French?
Rickey is fluent in both English and French and will communicate with you in the language of your choice.
